Speech given by Karyn Madafferi:
Good Morning All
It has been my pleasure to be associated with this club both as a parent and in a committee role since the rebirth of the junior arm of the Club back in 2003. During that time – many friendships have been made throughout the entire club from the seniors down and I’d like to take this opportunity to thank those of you who have continued to support and encourage Anthony, Jaiden and myself since Pete’s passing. I’d also like to say how honoured we are to have this day named for him.
Pete was a big personality with a never say NO attitude. A firm believer in a family friendly environment his welcoming smile and the time he gave just to chat belied the work ethic he applied to the Club behind the scenes.
His belief that the then Carrum United could and would be a force to be reckoned saw him, together with his partner in crime Chris Attard, knock on lots of doors/step on lots of toes and rattle more than a few cages to try and get the job done. If he were here today – he’d be more than a little pleased to see that those early efforts are starting to pay off - even if he were looking for a solution to the next problem mountain.
A lot of hard work by a whole load of people has been and continues to be undertaken to build and develop Skye United into what it was always intended to be – a successful, safe, family orientated club where all are welcome. 2010 is already a premiership season for us – we will have our new rooms, we will have our senior boys AT HOME with us, we have our first ever senior womens team and we have a great bunch of kids eager to learn a great game!
The boys and I congratulate the organizing committee for today and hope that everyone has a fantastic day.
Thank you
Karyn Madafferi
P.S. Karyn also asked that we acknowledge and thank the following parties who made donations to the raffle last Sat.

A special mention also to Custom Floats Pty. Ltd. for the generous donation of the generator which was on display on the day. This contribution will greatly assist the Club in 2010 and we are very thankful for the generosity of the owners of the company (Soul & Gina Dimitriou).

FIRST EVER WOMEN'S TEAM!
President Chris Attard is extremely pleased to announce that Skye United will be fielding their first ever Senior Womens team in the 2010 FFV season. Whilst we are awaiting the final confirmation of the league that the team will be entered, it is now official that the team will be playing at the Skye Reserve from April this year.
Football Operations Manager Graham Dudley will be starting the coaching for the team in joint sessions with the Under 16 Girls at the Italian Club on Wednesday 10th, 17th and 24th February before Stephen Babbage and Elysa Vella take over the weekly coaching and training.
We are still looking for some additional players to deepen the squad for the season so ask your friends if they are interested.
Click "Hot Shot Harry" (below) for a downloadable form that can be printed and put up where possible to attract some attention.

Good luck to the team for the 2010 season.
